2) SALOME: (Greek= )
Etymology: perfect
"The daughter of Herodias,” not named in the New Testament. On the occasion of the birthday festival held by Herod Antipas, who had married her mother Herodias, in the fortress of Machaerus, she “came in and danced, and pleased Herod” (Mark 6:14-29). John the Baptist, at that time a prisoner in the dungeons underneath the castle, was at her request beheadedby order of Herod, and his head given to the damsel in a charger, “and the damsel gave it to her mother,” whose revengeful spirit was thus gratified. “A luxurious feast of the period” (says Farrar, Life of Christ) “was not regarded as complete unless it closed with some gross pantomimic representation; and doubtless Herod had adopted the evil fashion of his day. But he had not anticipated for his guests the rare luxury of seeing a princess, his own niece, a grand-daughter of Herod the Great and of Mariamne, a descendant, therefore, of Simon the high priest and the great line of Maccabean princes, a princess who afterwards became the wife of a tetrarch [Philip, tetrarch of Trachonitis] and the mother of a king, honoring them by degrading herself into a scenic dancer.”

SARAH / SARAH (Hebrew= )
Etymology: princess
SARA or SARAI: - see Sarah
Picture
Sarah is a real woman of the old testament (but before the Law of Moses) the wife of Abraham. He name is exceptionally important to study, along with Hagar, as they represent two covenants, the new (Sarah) and old (Hagar).
There are two Hagar's in the bible - the woman in the old testament, and the spiritualised woman in the new testament (Galatians 4) still under bondage. Similarly there are two Sarah's.
A few spiritualised women (either good or evil) are Jezebel, Hagar, Sarah, and the whore of Babylon.
Her original name was Sarai (Genesis 11:29). She was the wife and at the same time the half-sister of Abraham (Gen. 11:29; 20:12).
The name “Sarah” name was given to her at the time that it was announced to Abraham that she should be the mother of the promised child (Genesis 17:15). Her story is from her marriage identified with that of the patriarch till the time of her death.
Her death, at the age of one hundred and twenty-seven years (the only instance in Scripture where the age of a woman is recorded), was the occasion of Abraham's purchasing the cave of Machpelah as a family burying-place.
In the allegory of Gal. 4:22-31, she is the type of the “Jerusalem which is above.” She is also mentioned as Sara in Hebrews 11:11 among the Old Testament worthies, who “all died in faith.”

SHIPRAH: (Hebrew= )
Etymology: beauty
if her name was Egyptian, it would have to be translated from Egyptian into Hebrew, so even if Shiprah is a Hebrew name, it does not prove that the race of Shiprah was an Hebrew woman, and not of Egyptian blood. For instance YHWH was rendered Theos in the new testament, which is NOTHING like YHWH phonetically.

Etymology:
This beautiful young woman (the Shulamite) is a unnamed love of Solomon described in the Song of Solomon (real or poetic is debatable - some say it represents the church). Some believe that this term is the equivalent of “Shunammite,” meaning from “Shunem.” (If not, the meaning is unknown.) The word “Shulamite” appears in only one Bible verse, Song of Songs 6:13.

Etymology:
King David was served in his elderly years by a young woman named Abishag (1 Kings 1:1-4, 15) who was a Shunammite (a woman from the city of Shunem). King Solomon's first wife was a Shulamite. Therefore, it is possible that beautiful Abishag who served David, later became the wife of King Solomon.

Her faith in him was severely tested by his silence (Matt. 15:23), refusal (24), and seeming reproach that it was not meet to cast the children's bread to dogs (26). But it stood the test, and her petition was graciously granted, because of the greatness of her faith (28).
